WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump, members of his family, and several close political allies could benefit financially if the United States reaches a proposed civil nuclear energy agreement with Saudi Arabia, according to a report by The New York Times.

The report says the Trump administration’s efforts to advance a nuclear cooperation deal have drawn renewed scrutiny because several individuals close to the president have financial interests in companies linked to the nuclear energy sector.

According to the newspaper, Trump’s sons have investments in nuclear fuel companies, while Trump Media & Technology Group is reportedly pursuing a merger with a nuclear energy startup. In addition, several senior cabinet officials and prominent Trump donors are said to have connections with businesses that could benefit if the agreement proceeds.

The White House rejected suggestions that the administration’s policy is influenced by personal financial interests.

A White House spokesperson dismissed the allegations, saying attempts to portray the negotiations as a conflict of interest are “irresponsible” and argued that such reporting undermines public trust in the media.

The proposed US-Saudi nuclear agreement is currently facing uncertainty after President Trump stated that the deal would not move forward unless Saudi Arabia normalizes diplomatic relations with Israel.

The potential agreement is seen as part of broader US efforts to deepen strategic cooperation with Saudi Arabia while balancing regional security concerns and ongoing diplomatic negotiations in the Middle East.
