JERUSALEM, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly told his cabinet that the United States is pressing Israel to withdraw military forces from parts of Gaza, southern Lebanon, and Syria, but insisted he has no intention of accepting such demands.
According to Israel’s Channel 13, citing unnamed security sources familiar with the discussions, Washington is seeking a series of Israeli troop withdrawals across the three fronts as part of broader diplomatic and regional security efforts.
The report did not specify whether the proposed withdrawals would be partial or complete.
During a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu reportedly informed ministers that he would firmly oppose any request requiring Israel to pull back its forces.
“I intend to stand on my own two feet and resist,” Netanyahu reportedly told ministers.
“I will tell them no.”
The reported disagreement comes ahead of Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, where he is scheduled to meet U.S. President Donald Trump for talks expected to focus on regional security, Iran, Gaza, and broader U.S.-Israel strategic cooperation.
