ISLAMABAD, — Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held a farewell meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Khazar Farhadov, at Parliament House in Islamabad, reaffirming the strong and longstanding partnership between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, parliamentary cooperation, and regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq praised Ambassador Farhadov’s diplomatic contributions in strengthening bilateral ties and wished him success in his future responsibilities.
He said the brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan is built on mutual respect, shared values, and longstanding friendship, adding that expanding cooperation between the two countries remains a positive development.
The Speaker highlighted the growing people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, noting that the increasing number of Pakistani students studying in Azerbaijan reflects the deepening relationship between the two nations.

He also emphasized the importance of enhancing parliamentary exchanges and cooperation, saying both countries have consistently supported each other on regional and international parliamentary forums.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov thanked the Speaker for his appreciation and expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Pakistan for the respect, hospitality, and friendship extended to him during his diplomatic tenure.
The outgoing ambassador also acknowledged Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s efforts in promoting parliamentary diplomacy and expressed confidence that Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
