ISLAMABAD, Pakistan has welcomed the ratification of the Pakistan-Kuwait Defence Cooperation Agreement, describing the development as a significant milestone in further strengthening the longstanding defence partnership between the two brotherly countries.
In a statement issued in Islamabad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Pakistan highly values the formal ratification of the agreement, which was originally signed in June 2023.
The Foreign Office stated that the agreement establishes a comprehensive institutional framework aimed at enhancing defence cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait across multiple areas of mutual interest.
According to the ministry, defence cooperation between the two countries dates back to the early 1980s, and the newly ratified agreement is expected to further deepen the longstanding strategic relationship between their armed forces.
The framework covers a broad range of areas, including military training, defence education, joint military exercises, exchange of defence expertise and experience, as well as cooperation in other mutually agreed sectors.

The Foreign Office noted that the agreement will strengthen institutional linkages between the armed forces of Pakistan and Kuwait while creating new opportunities for expanded defence collaboration.
Pakistan expressed confidence that the ratification of the agreement would further reinforce the enduring defence partnership between the two countries and contribute to broader bilateral relations based on mutual trust, cooperation, and shared security interests.
