ISLAMABAD, Pakistan and Belarus have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral defense ties as a high-level military delegation from Belarus held talks with Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Belarusian delegation was led by Major General Pavel Nikolayevich Muraveiko, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus.
During the meeting, both sides held comprehensive discussions on expanding cooperation in defense modernization, military-industrial collaboration, professional training, operational coordination, and emerging aerospace technologies. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.
Welcoming the visiting delegation, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu reiterated the Pakistan Air Force’s firm commitment to enhancing bilateral military relations and promoting long-term strategic cooperation.
He highlighted the Pakistan Air Force’s modernization strategy, operational excellence, and initiatives aimed at achieving greater self-reliance in defense capabilities. The Air Chief emphasized that stronger military cooperation, joint exercises, technical collaboration, defense-industrial partnerships, and advanced technology exchanges are essential for building a sustainable and mutually beneficial relationship.

The Air Chief also expressed Pakistan’s readiness to expand bilateral engagement through increased joint training programs, operational cooperation, and technical exchanges between the two air forces.
Major General Muraveiko praised the remarkable progress made by the Pakistan Air Force under the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, describing its operational readiness, technological advancement, and self-reliance initiatives as exemplary.
He noted that the Pakistan Air Force has become a model for modern air forces and expressed Belarus’s strong interest in expanding cooperation in defense, aerospace, aviation, and military training.

The Belarusian military chief also conveyed confidence that the growing defense partnership between the two countries would produce practical and long-term benefits.
According to the ISPR, the visiting delegation showed particular interest in developing joint projects with the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), describing it as a transformative platform for research, innovation, and collaboration in shaping the future of the aerospace industry.
The statement added that the Belarusian delegation’s visit to Air Headquarters reflects the continued expansion of military cooperation between the two friendly nations and demonstrates their shared determination to deepen collaboration in defense and aviation.
