At least 45 people were killed after Houthi militants launched coordinated attacks on Yemeni Emergency Forces positions in the provinces of Marib and Hadramout, according to local reports. Most of the victims were members of government security forces.
The attacks targeted an Emergency Forces camp near Marib Governorate, where Houthi fighters launched a large-scale assault from three different directions using medium-range missiles and armed drones.
Security sources said the attackers fired more than 20 projectiles, including suicide drones, in one of the deadliest assaults on government positions in recent months.
The coordinated strikes caused heavy casualties among Yemeni security personnel and raised concerns over renewed escalation in the country’s long-running conflict.
Marib remains one of Yemen’s most strategically important provinces and has frequently witnessed clashes between Houthi forces and the internationally recognized Yemeni government. The latest attack highlights the continued security challenges facing the country despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce violence.
