PARIS, — Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, participated as the guest of honor in the annual Ravivage de la Flamme (Flame Rekindling) ceremony held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier beneath the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
According to a statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in France, representatives of the Royal British Legion (Paris Branch) welcomed Ambassador Baloch upon her arrival at the historic memorial.
Tribute to British and Commonwealth Soldiers
During the ceremony, Ambassador Baloch laid a floral wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to honor British and Commonwealth troops who lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars.
The event featured a ceremonial military parade, an honor guard, and a military band of the French Armed Forces, which performed the national anthems of Pakistan and France.
International Participation
The memorial ceremony brought together French military and civilian officials, members of the Royal British Legion, diplomats, serving and retired military personnel from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries, and invited guests.

The Royal British Legion (Paris Branch) has organized the Flame Rekindling Ceremony every year on August 4 since 1924.
The ceremony commemorates British and Commonwealth servicemen and women who lost their lives during the two World Wars and symbolizes enduring remembrance and respect for their sacrifices.
