ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation during the 9th session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The meeting was held in Islamabad and was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Belarusian Minister of Energy Daniys Maroz.
Pakistan Seeks New Economic Opportunities
Speaking at the meeting, Jam Kamal Khan said strong political leadership has further strengthened relations between Pakistan and Belarus.
He said this cooperation has created a strong foundation for expanding bilateral ties. It can also help both countries explore new opportunities for mutual benefit.
The commerce minister stressed the need to identify new areas of growth. He also called for efforts to diversify markets and expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

Belarusian Minister of Energy Daniys Maroz appreciated Pakistan’s warm welcome and the constructive discussions held with relevant Pakistani government officials.
He reaffirmed Belarus’ readiness to expand cooperation with Pakistan in various sectors.
According to the minister, stronger engagement can help both countries build on their existing bilateral relationship and explore further areas of economic cooperation.
Joint Commission Protocol Signed
At the conclusion of the meeting, Jam Kamal Khan and Daniys Maroz signed the mutually agreed protocol of the 9th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission.
The agreement reflects the two countries’ continued efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation and promote bilateral trade.
Pakistan Television and Belarus Sign MoU
Another important development came during the meeting when the National State Television and Radio Company of Belarus and the Pakistan Television Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement is expected to provide a framework for greater cooperation between the two national broadcasters.
Overall, the 9th Joint Ministerial Commission meeting highlighted Pakistan and Belarus’ shared interest in expanding economic ties. Both sides also expressed their willingness to identify new opportunities and strengthen cooperation across different sectors.
