Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched an attack on two US military bases in Jordan on Monday.

Iranian media reported that the IRGC used ballistic missiles in the attack.

The targets were the King Hussein Air Base and Al Azraq Air Base in Jordan.

Iran Says Attack Was Retaliation

The IRGC said the attack came in response to a US strike on Larak Island in Iran.

US forces struck two Iranian launchers on the island on Sunday, according to a US official.

The official said US forces saw IRGC personnel preparing to launch rockets with sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has warned that it will respond to the US action.

Rising US-Iran Tensions

The latest attack adds to rising tensions between Iran and the United States.

Iran has also targeted US military positions in the region during the wider conflict.

The United States has several military facilities and personnel across the Middle East.

Jordan hosts US forces and has worked closely with Washington on regional security.

Details about Monday’s attack remain limited.

There was no immediate independent confirmation of the extent of damage or casualties at the two bases.
