Yemen’s Houthi fighters say they launched a drone and missile attack on a military base in southern Saudi Arabia.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the group targeted the Sharurah military base. He made the claim in a post on X.
According to Saree, the attack targeted “weapons depots and command and control centers.” He said those facilities were involved in military operations against Yemen.
The Houthis did not specify when the operation took place.
Fighting Escalates in Yemen
The announcement comes as clashes have increased this week between the Iran-allied Houthis and forces loyal to Yemen’s government.
Saudi Arabia supports the Yemeni government forces. The Houthis control large areas of northern Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa.
The latest development adds to tensions between the Houthis, Saudi Arabia and forces backed by Riyadh.
