TEHRAN — Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have warned that any new US attack would bring a different military response.
IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said Iran would use new weapons and target locations that it has not attacked before.
“If a new aggression occurs, we will certainly change the weaponry and the geography of the war,” Mohebbi said, according to Iranian media and Reuters reporting.
Iran Warns of Wider War Geography
Mohebbi said Iran would change both its weapons and the geography of the conflict if the United States launches another attack.
He also said Iran has weapons with new capabilities that have not yet been used.
The IRGC spokesman warned that the world would be surprised by these weapons. He also said Iran has new targets that have not been attacked in the current conflict.
Iran has said it remains prepared for a prolonged conflict. The IRGC also says it has continued to upgrade its military capabilities.
IRGC Rejects US Contact Claims
Mohebbi also denied reports of direct contact between Iran and the United States.
He said the IRGC is Iran’s military and defense arm. Therefore, he said, the force does not take part in diplomatic activity.
The comments come as Washington and Tehran continue to exchange threats. At the same time, diplomatic efforts remain active through mediators. Reuters reported that Iran has sent conditions for renewed talks through intermediaries.
Iran Claims US Bases Were Hit
Mohebbi also claimed that most US military bases targeted by Iran in the region had become inoperable.
He said American troops and equipment had moved from some of the affected bases to other locations.
These claims come from the IRGC and have not been independently verified.
IRGC Says US Suffered Defeat
Mohebbi also claimed that the United States and Israel had suffered a “historic” defeat in the conflict.
He said Washington had not accepted that outcome.
The IRGC spokesman also pointed to the Strait of Hormuz. He said the United States had failed to reopen the key waterway despite its military power.
For now, the latest statements add to tensions between Tehran and Washington. They also come as diplomatic efforts continue alongside military threats.
