NEW YORK — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif conveyed warm greetings and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and brotherly ties with Kuwait.
Pakistan-Kuwait Relations
The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with Kuwait. He also pointed to opportunities to increase cooperation in trade, investment, energy and human resource development.
Both sides expressed interest in further strengthening bilateral engagement through cooperation in these areas.
Regional and Global Developments
The Pakistani prime minister and the Kuwaiti crown prince also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
They reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability and prosperity.
Shehbaz Sharif is in New York to lead Pakistan’s participation in the high-level segment of the 81st UN General Assembly. He is scheduled to address the General Assembly on September 25 and present Pakistan’s position on regional and global security issues.
