ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has announced an indefinite nationwide strike after negotiations with the federal government over dealer margins and the proposed daily pricing mechanism for petroleum products failed to produce an agreement.
According to the association, petrol pumps across the country will remain closed from 12:00 a.m. on July 22, and the strike will continue until their demands are addressed.
In a video message, association leader Nauman Butt said talks with the Federal Minister for Petroleum ended without any positive outcome. He stated that discussions on dealer profit margins and the government’s proposed daily fuel price adjustment mechanism failed to reach a consensus.
Following the unsuccessful negotiations, the association decided to launch a nationwide shutdown of fuel stations, warning that the strike would continue indefinitely unless the government accepted its demands.
The association has also directed all petrol pump owners across Pakistan to fully participate in the strike and keep their filling stations closed from the announced date and time.

The development could disrupt fuel supplies and affect transportation and commercial activities if the deadlock between the government and petroleum dealers continues.
