Pakistan Welcomes Progress on Gaza Peace Agreement, Praises Mediation by US, Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan has welcomed the latest progress in the implementation of the Gaza peace agreement, describing recent developments as encouraging and praising the mediation efforts of the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye.

In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan appreciated the positive momentum achieved under the Board of Peace’s Gaza peace initiative, expressing hope that all commitments made under the agreement would be fully implemented.

“The positive progress made under the Gaza peace plan is encouraging, and the mediation efforts undertaken by the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye are commendable,” the spokesperson said.

The Foreign Office expressed optimism that continued diplomatic engagement would contribute to the successful implementation of the agreement and help advance lasting peace in the region.

Support for Palestinian Self-Determination

The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding position that such diplomatic efforts should ultimately facilitate the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination in accordance with international law and the relevant United Nations resolutions.

Pakistan also reaffirmed its support for a comprehensive political process leading to the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders.

The statement further emphasized that Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) should serve as the capital of the future Palestinian state.

Pakistan has consistently called for a just, lasting, and peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue through dialogue and diplomacy, while supporting international initiatives aimed at ending the conflict and ensuring regional stability.
