Pakistan Army Chief Pledges Continued Efforts for Regional Peace and Stability in Tehran

Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has pledged to continue efforts to promote peace and restore stability in the region.

Munir made the remarks during a meeting with Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in Tehran on Monday.

The meeting focused on regional security and ongoing diplomatic efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Asim Munir Meets Iranian Chief Negotiator

Munir and Ghalibaf held talks in Tehran as part of Pakistan’s efforts to support regional peace and security.

According to reports cited by Dawn, Pakistan’s military described Munir’s visit as part of Islamabad’s efforts to achieve a peaceful, lasting and comprehensive resolution to the regional conflict.

The meeting comes as Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and supporting dialogue in the region.

Iran Raises Concerns Over US Commitments

During the meeting, Ghalibaf discussed what he described as repeated US violations of its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

He said the obligations of both sides under the memorandum were clear.

Ghalibaf accused the United States of obstructing efforts to restore regional stability by failing to honor its commitments.

He also argued that the alleged violations had raised further questions about Washington’s reliability as a negotiating partner.

Iran Calls for Implementation of Memorandum

Ghalibaf said Iran remained committed to implementing the terms of the memorandum.

He stressed that the United States must also fulfill its obligations under the agreement.

The Iranian negotiator rejected the idea that pressure could force Tehran to change its position.

Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability during the meeting.

He said Pakistan would continue working to support peace and stability in the region.
