RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan has urged Saudi soldiers and coalition forces to remain united, patient and steadfast amid renewed Houthi attacks.
In a message addressed to personnel serving on the front lines, Sheikh Al-Fawzan called on them to carry out their duties with determination and precision. He also urged them to remain prepared to defend Saudi territory and its people.
Grand Mufti Condemns Houthi Attacks
Sheikh Al-Fawzan condemned the actions of the Houthi group and described them as a threat to Saudi Arabia’s security and stability.
He urged Saudi and coalition personnel to maintain unity while carrying out their responsibilities. He also stressed the importance of cooperation among the forces deployed on the front lines.
The Grand Mufti said defending Saudi Arabia and protecting its borders are major responsibilities. He also referred to the importance of protecting the Muslim holy sites in the Kingdom.
Call for Patience and Steadfastness
Sheikh Al-Fawzan advised troops to remain patient and steadfast during difficult circumstances.
He urged personnel to stay prepared to perform their duties and to follow the instructions of their commanders. He also called on them to maintain discipline while carrying out their missions.
The Grand Mufti further encouraged the forces to place their trust in God while facing the ongoing security challenges.

Saudi Arabia Faces Renewed Houthi Attacks
The statement came amid a renewed escalation involving Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Saudi authorities have reported multiple missile and drone attacks. On September 19, Saudi Arabia said its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched toward Riyadh. Saudi authorities also reported attempted attacks targeting Baish, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu.
The Saudi-led coalition later reported that it had intercepted six ballistic missiles launched by Houthi forces. Saudi authorities also issued emergency alerts in several areas, including Makkah, Jeddah, Yanbu and Taif.
Message Comes Amid Wider Regional Tensions
The Grand Mufti’s message comes as Saudi Arabia faces renewed security pressure linked to the conflict in Yemen.
His statement also follows growing diplomatic and military coordination between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
The three countries’ foreign ministers met in New York on September 25. They discussed regional security and preparations for an urgent meeting of their chiefs of staff to consider ways to support Saudi Arabia under the agreement.
