Islamabad: Pakistan and Sweden have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in agriculture, food security, sustainable farming, and research, with both countries expressing a shared commitment to promoting innovation and modern agricultural practices.
During a meeting with the Swedish delegation, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the importance of adopting the One Health approach, which integrates human health, animal health, and environmental protection to develop effective and sustainable strategies for addressing global agricultural and public health challenges.
The minister said Pakistan is keen to benefit from Sweden’s advanced expertise, modern technologies, and successful agricultural practices. He also invited Swedish companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s agricultural sector, highlighting the country’s vast potential for growth and innovation.
Rana Tanveer Hussain reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing food safety, promoting agricultural innovation, and developing a sustainable agricultural system capable of meeting future challenges.
He added that cooperation in research, technology transfer, investment, and capacity building would further strengthen bilateral relations and contribute to long-term agricultural development.
