Islamabad: Pakistan chaired the 12th Meeting of the Heads of Border Services of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad, where member states adopted key decisions aimed at enhancing regional border security, joint operations, and future security cooperation.
According to the Foreign Office, the meeting brought together representatives from Pakistan, China, Russia, India, Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS).
During the meeting, participants unanimously approved the results of the joint border operation “Solidarity-2025” and endorsed a comprehensive plan for organizing and conducting the next operation, “Solidarity-2026.”
Delegates reviewed the current security situation along international borders, discussed emerging security threats, and emphasized the importance of strengthening information sharing and operational cooperation among member states to effectively address cross-border challenges.
The meeting also approved the 2027 Work Plan of the SCO Border Services Experts Group. Member states welcomed and supported Tajikistan’s proposal to host the joint border operation “Solidarity-2027.”

Participants also exchanged views on proposals regarding the venue and schedule for the next meeting of the SCO Heads of Border Services.
The member states reaffirmed that coordinated strategies, timely intelligence sharing, and close cooperation are essential to addressing common border security challenges, while also promoting regional stability, mutual trust, and stronger security partnerships across the SCO region.
According to the Foreign Office, the meeting concluded in a constructive and cooperative atmosphere, reflecting the shared commitment of SCO members to strengthening regional peace and border management.
