Islamabad: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Pakistan on a high-level official visit, carrying a special message from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a move aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing regional cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
Momeni landed in Islamabad along with a senior delegation and was received at the airport by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, and Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were also present to welcome the visiting delegation. Talal Chaudhry presented a bouquet to the Iranian minister upon his arrival.
Welcoming his counterpart, Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence that the visit would contribute positively to Pakistan-Iran relations and voiced hope that the Iranian minister had brought encouraging developments regarding regional affairs. He said the visit was expected to promote bilateral cooperation and facilitate discussions on important regional issues.
The accompanying Iranian delegation includes the Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, the Deputy Interior Minister, the Deputy Minister for Urban Development and Transport, the Head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), the Special Representative of Iran’s Minister of Agriculture, and several other senior government officials.
During his stay, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The discussions are expected to focus on bilateral relations, border management, regional security, economic cooperation, trade, and other matters of mutual interest.

Later, Momeni held talks with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, describing him as “a brother” and expressing pleasure at meeting him once again. He praised the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Iran and appreciated the hospitality extended by the Pakistani government and people.
Responding to the remarks, Mohsin Naqvi said he was confident that the Iranian minister’s visit would prove productive and help further deepen cooperation between Islamabad and Tehran across multiple sectors.
The visit comes at a time when both countries are seeking to strengthen diplomatic engagement, improve cross-border coordination, and expand economic and security cooperation amid evolving regional developments.
