ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Poland have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation, enhancing capacity building, and expanding collaboration to address the growing challenges of climate change and disaster management.
According to a statement issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Thursday, a high-level Polish delegation visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at the NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad.
The delegation was led by Paweł Dąbrowski, International Representative of Poland’s Ministry of the Interior, and was welcomed by NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik.
During the visit, the NDMA chairman briefed the delegation on the operational capabilities of the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) and Pakistan’s integrated disaster management framework.
The Polish delegation was introduced to NDMA’s use of advanced technologies, early warning systems, and coordinated national emergency response mechanisms designed to improve disaster preparedness and response across the country.

Officials also highlighted NDMA’s close coordination with the federal government, provincial authorities, humanitarian organizations, and international development partners to ensure an effective and unified response to emergencies.
The delegation received detailed presentations on community-level risk awareness, preventive disaster mitigation measures, timely mobilization of national resources, and Pakistan’s mechanisms for coordinating international humanitarian assistance.
NDMA further briefed the visiting officials on potential disaster and climate-related risks that Pakistan and other countries may face during 2026, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and international cooperation.

The Polish delegation praised Pakistan’s modern and internationally recognized disaster management system and expressed its desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in disaster risk reduction, emergency response, and climate resilience.
Both countries reiterated their shared commitment to expanding institutional partnerships and enhancing joint efforts to tackle the increasing impacts of climate change and natural disasters.
