CHOLPON-ATA, Kyrgyz Republic: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, on Thursday to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Meeting.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister Dar was welcomed upon arrival by Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Kairat Tursunkulov, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Altamash Wazir, Pakistan’s SCO National Coordinator Dr. Muhammad Faisal, and senior officials from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
On the evening of his arrival, Senator Ishaq Dar is scheduled to attend an informal dinner of the SCO Foreign Ministers, where participating ministers will exchange views and discuss the agenda ahead of the formal Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister is also expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from SCO member states to discuss regional cooperation, security, trade, connectivity, and other issues of mutual interest.
The SCO Council of Foreign Ministers will be attended by the foreign ministers of all member states, including Pakistan, China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The Council of Foreign Ministers is the third-highest decision-making body within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and is responsible for discussing international affairs, regional security, foreign policy coordination, and preparations for meetings of the SCO Heads of State Council.
As part of his visit, Senator Ishaq Dar is also scheduled to call on the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, where discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to promoting regional connectivity, economic cooperation, and collective security through the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
