Pakistan Army Chief Says Security Forces Will Defeat Terrorism and Restore Lasting Peace in Balochistan

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir (Nishan-e-Imtiaz Military, Hilal-e-Jurat), has reaffirmed that the country’s security forces, with the unwavering support of the people, will continue efforts to establish lasting peace in Balochistan and decisively defeat all externally supported militant elements seeking to destabilize the province.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday, Field Marshal Asim Munir addressed participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan during an interaction at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

Commitment to Eliminating Terrorism

Addressing the participants, the Army Chief said that the continuous efforts of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, backed by the strong support of the public, would ensure sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan.

He reiterated that targeted operations against militant groups identified by Pakistan as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan would continue with full determination until terrorism and its facilitators are completely eliminated from the country.

Field Marshal Asim Munir further stated that Pakistan remains firmly committed to dismantling any terrorist infrastructure that poses a threat to the country’s security and its citizens, wherever it may exist.

Warning to Externally Backed Elements

The Army Chief stressed that externally supported groups have consistently attempted to fuel violence, undermine stability, and sabotage peace in Balochistan.

He said Pakistan’s armed forces, supported by the unity, resilience, and determination of the nation, would continue to respond firmly and decisively to defeat such hostile designs.

Balochistan’s Development and National Unity

Describing Balochistan as a source of national pride, Field Marshal Asim Munir said the province is blessed with abundant natural resources, while its courageous, hardworking, and patriotic people remain its greatest strength.

He noted that ongoing development initiatives by the federal and provincial governments aim to transform Balochistan’s socio-economic landscape through inclusive and people-centric policies.

The Army Chief also appreciated the constructive contributions of civil society, educational institutions, media, and youth in promoting national cohesion and supporting long-term peace and prosperity in the province.

He emphasized that national unity, resilience, and collective efforts are essential for building a secure and prosperous future for Pakistan.

The interaction concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to Pakistan’s stability, development, sovereignty, and the establishment of lasting peace and prosperity in Balochistan.
