MOSCOW: Russia’s most advanced fifth-generation fighter aircraft, the Su-57, crashed during a training mission near Moscow, according to foreign media reports.
The pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft before the crash and survived the incident without reported serious injuries.
Reports indicate that the fighter jet came down in a rural area near the Russian capital during what was described as a routine training flight.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence has not yet released an official statement detailing the cause of the accident or providing further information about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Su-57 is Russia’s most modern multirole stealth fighter, designed for air superiority and precision strike missions. It is equipped with advanced avionics, stealth technology, and next-generation weapons systems, making it one of the most capable aircraft in the Russian Air Force.
