ISLAMABAD, — Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has said that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman provided clear assurances to the Iranian leadership that Saudi territory would not be used for any military action against Iran.
According to Ashrafi, despite repeated attacks and heightened regional tensions, Saudi Arabia has demonstrated restraint, responsibility, and a commitment to regional stability.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shown patience, tolerance, and responsibility during a period of severe regional tensions,” Ashrafi said.
Ashrafi stated that both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have consistently maintained that the dispute between Iran and the United States should be resolved through dialogue, negotiations, and diplomatic engagement rather than military confrontation.
He emphasized that Islamabad and Riyadh continue to prioritize peaceful solutions to regional disputes.

The PUC chairman said recent diplomatic contacts between the leadership of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had played a constructive role in creating space for negotiations.
He specifically referred to the engagement between Field Marshal Hafiz Syed Asim Munir and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, describing their efforts as instrumental in supporting diplomatic initiatives.
Ashrafi also claimed that, following diplomatic contacts involving Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, US President Donald Trump decided to halt the anticipated military strikes against Iran, creating an opportunity for renewed negotiations.

He described the joint diplomatic efforts of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a significant contribution toward regional peace, stability, and dialogue.
“No amount of praise would be enough for the efforts made by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to provide an opportunity for peace, stability, and negotiations,” Ashrafi said.
