ISLAMABAD: The International Council for the Custodianship of the Two Holy Sanctuaries has voiced strong support for Saudi Arabia.
The council said the safety of Saudi Arabia is vital for Muslims worldwide.
It also stressed the importance of protecting Mecca and Medina.
According to the council, Saudi Arabia has the ability to defend its land and people.
Its armed forces and security agencies can also protect the holy sites.
The council said Saudi Arabia has not asked Pakistan for military support.
It added that the Kingdom has not asked Muslims in other countries for such support either.
Muslim World Supports Saudi Leadership
The council referred to past attempts to target Mecca.
It also pointed to recent efforts against Medina.
Therefore, it said Muslim scholars and religious leaders stand with Saudi Arabia.
Muslims around the world also support the Saudi leadership, the council said.
The statement named King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Sanctuaries.
It also expressed support for Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
In addition, the council voiced support for the Saudi people and armed forces.
No Compromise on Mecca and Medina
The council said there can be no compromise on the safety of the two holy cities.
It also stressed that their sacred status must remain protected.
At the same time, the council said Saudi Arabia has the ability to defend the holy sites.
It added that Muslims worldwide remain ready to help if Saudi Arabia asks for support.
However, the council said such support would come only if the Saudi leadership gives permission.
The council further said Muslims are ready to offer cooperation and sacrifice if needed.
It stressed that the protection of the sacred land remains a shared concern for Muslims worldwide.
