The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad has officially welcomed Ms. Clarence G. Ong as its new Communications and Records Officer following her arrival in Pakistan on May 27, 2026.
The appointment is expected to further strengthen the embassy’s operational capacity as it continues to expand diplomatic engagement, public outreach and consular services in Pakistan.

In addition to her role as Communications and Records Officer, Ms. Ong will also serve as Protocol Officer and Secretary to Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez.
The embassy said her appointment comes at an important time as the diplomatic mission works to meet increasing operational demands while addressing staffing challenges.
Officials noted that her experience and support will contribute significantly to the embassy’s daily operations and diplomatic activities.
Ambassador Emmanuel Fernandez and members of the embassy team formally welcomed Ms. Ong after the Eid ul Adha holidays.
The ambassador and staff extended their best wishes for her new assignment and expressed confidence in her ability to contribute effectively to the mission’s objectives in Pakistan.
The welcoming ceremony highlighted the collaborative spirit within the embassy and its commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic representation.
The embassy also acknowledged Ms. Ong’s dedication in assuming her duties immediately despite personal sacrifices.
According to the mission, she temporarily left her spouse and children in the Philippines while awaiting the completion of visa processing requirements for her family.
The embassy described her decision as a reflection of the professionalism, commitment and resilience demonstrated by Philippine foreign service personnel serving overseas.
The Philippine Embassy stated that it looks forward to Ms. Ong’s valuable contributions as it continues promoting Philippine diplomacy, public service and people-to-people engagement in Pakistan.
