The Embassy of Pakistan in Romania hosted a special event to honor the National Chamber Choir Madrigal – Marin Constantin for its acclaimed rendition of Pakistan’s national anthem.
The ceremony brought together the choir’s management, conductor, director and members who took part in the performance. Romanian Foreign Ministry officials also attended the event.
The gathering highlighted the growing role of cultural diplomacy in Pakistan-Romania relations. The Madrigal Choir previously created the first professional choral arrangement and score of Pakistan’s national anthem, a project launched with support from the Romanian Embassy in Islamabad.
Choir Performs Pakistani and Romanian Anthems
The event opened with performances of the national anthems of Romania and Pakistan.
The programme also featured a short artistic performance by the choir. Guests then enjoyed traditional Qawwali music and songs from Pakistani folklore.
The embassy hosted the event as a gesture of appreciation for the choir’s contribution to the cultural ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Ilyas Nizami Thanks Madrigal Choir
Ambassador Ilyas Nizami thanked the Romanian government and the Madrigal Choir for the initiative.
He said the choir’s rendition of Pakistan’s national anthem marked an important moment in cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Romania.
The ambassador also noted the strong public response to the performance in Pakistan. According to the embassy, millions of people viewed the rendition through media and digital platforms.
Nizami said such cultural initiatives can help strengthen the friendly relations between Pakistan and Romania.
Certificates Presented to Choir Members
As a mark of appreciation, Ambassador Nizami presented a commemorative plaque to the choir’s manager and conductor.
The embassy also awarded certificates of appreciation to all choir members who contributed to the rendition of Pakistan’s national anthem.
The event was attended by Emil Pantelimon, manager of the Madrigal Choir, conductor Anna Ungureanu and director Simona Gabriela Haideu.
Romania’s Foreign Ministry was represented by Irina Bogdan from its Asia-Pacific and Latin America Directorate and Dana Niculescu from the Cultural Diplomacy, Education and Science Directorate.
