ISLAMABAD: The Grand Mufti of Palestine, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmed Hussain, along with Dr. Mahmood Al-Habash and a five-member high-level delegation, has arrived in Pakistan to participate in the 6th International “Paigham-e-Islam Conference,” scheduled to take place on May 6 at the Jinnah Convention Center.
The conference is being viewed as a significant global platform aimed at promoting unity, peace, and a collective stance among Muslim nations on key international issues.
The Palestinian delegation was warmly received at Islamabad International Airport by Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, senior officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan. The visit underscores not only religious solidarity but also the longstanding diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Palestine.
Speaking upon arrival, The Grand Mufti of Palestine, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmed Hussain expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan’s continued support, stating that the bond between the people of Pakistan and Palestine is enduring. He emphasized that the Palestinian nation will always remember the backing extended by Pakistan’s government, military, and citizens.
The Grand Mufti also extended gratitude to Pakistan’s leadership, including Asif Ali Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, and Syed Asim Munir, for their unwavering support on the Palestinian issue.
During their stay, the delegation is expected to hold high-level meetings with the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other senior officials. Discussions will focus on the evolving situation in Palestine, challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah, and avenues for enhanced international cooperation.
The 6th Paigham-e-Islam Conference will bring together prominent scholars, religious leaders, and intellectuals from across the Muslim world. According to Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, the event will play a pivotal role in presenting a unified narrative representing Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and other Islamic nations.
The visit comes at a time when the situation in Gaza remains a focal point of global concern. Pakistan has consistently raised its voice in support of Palestinian rights at international forums.
Observers believe that this high-profile visit and the upcoming conference will not only strengthen Pakistan-Palestine relations but also reinforce the broader message of unity within the Muslim world on the global stage.
